Most of BLC’s corporate social responsibility efforts are devoted to supporting undergraduate students from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), located in the city of São José do Rio Preto, which offers the best Translation course in the country. So far our partnership has proven to be a success for both parties and has allowed BLC to maintain its position as a leading language service provider in the Brazilian market. With the shortage of good translation professionals in Brazil, the least we can do is to support new graduates and help them enter the translation market more quickly, so they don’t have to accept jobs in other areas for lack of opportunities in translation.

BLC is one of the sponsors of the Translator's Week, an event planned and hosted by UNESP every year to promote the discussion of topics related to translation. BLC has taken an active role in the debates, presenting seminars on relevant themes and providing practical training in leading translation tools. During the Translator’s Week, students have the chance to learn more about BLC’s work and culture and the translation job market.

UNESP new graduates receive free training in the use of several translation tools. For most of them, it is the first contact with some of the market-leading tools. The training enables the quick integration of new translators in the labor market. Many become part of our team of translators. They start by translating small texts with the support of our in-house linguists and under the supervision of our Quality Assurance team. Once they gain enough experience, their translations are passed on to our Freelance Editors.
